I loved it. Thought some key moments were missing but still was great. Forgot how much of my life her songs were especially 87-89. Forgot the impact of her amazing performances.
The troubles were tastefully played out, what we knew and done right. The Whitney Robin storyline was always in the tabloids so most of us already guessed their relationship. They simply loved each other strong in a time when it couldn't be. Maybe she was bisexual, maybe Nippy was just looking for love and security. None of our business, did not make her sing any different.
The portrayal of Bobby Brown was just right, he did not cause her downfall, they were a beautiful disaster, equal in their demons, with love for each other but not enough in themselves. He blessed her with a beautiful daughter so they did have moments of happiness. The good and bad was balanced.
Stanley Tucci was the best supporting actor! I believed his Clive Davis was dead on.
Left with a feeling of deep sadness. We just never quite realize the demons our favorite idols suffer through. She was a one of a kind amazingly beautiful voice. However what cost was her success to her? RIP WH, I pray you found peace.
