Here's a shout out to the hundreds of millions of women throughout human history who have been made financially dependent on their male counterparts, giving up their careers, ambitions and bodies as they bore children - feeling backed into a corner, and a shadow of themselves as they watch their partners thrive. If we'd have gotten this right before the industrial revolution the world would not be going to flames as it is right now.
To those women, I think this movie does not do a great service. She is portrayed as desperate and psychotic - he spineless, without a sympathetic bone in his body. Their marriage surely died a long time ago.
Nevertheless, it's good entertainment, with lots of themes the audience will identify with, and so great in Danish.
