This movie plays with your head like how “smile” played Skye’s head. If you have seen the first movie, we were detached from the main character, making it easy for us know what’s real and what isn’t. But Smile 2, completely breaks down the wall between the protagonist (Skye) and the audience, which makes us think what Skye is thinking. We are literally being played, it’s a mind game for us audience as it is for skye, and if you paid close attention you’d notice most of the scene has a “flip” of camera movie, it was a motif, a form of communication that the movie is not only about Skye but how it’s also “flip” to us real audience to be in skye shoe! The continue use of core and building tension didn’t give us time to really understand what’s happening, but to just take it all in (because that’s what we see/ that’s also what Skye is seeing) Finn did an amazing work! An absolutely worth of money, such a clever way to sequel a movie, very well done!

This movie is the biggest joke, that was the plot. There’s no tension building, no character relation that made sense to even be a part of this film. There really isn’t any plot, this is high school musical on steroids. Everytime they open their mouth to sing, I just wanted to rip my ears out. This movie is rubbish and even Gaga couldn’t have it, the story line is done very poorly.

The trailer is an excellent example of good marketing, however we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. Thriller and mystery as its genre states, though there was nothing mysterious about the film, quit the opposite actually. Predictable and humorous, the film really put goosebumps on me because of all the cringe acting & dialogue from the cast. 1) If the butcher mother (cooper) was a core influence of him acting the way he is, why isn’t there’s a committed 40 mins to that past instead we get a Taylor’s swift concert, If I wanted to watch that I’ll go on YouTube. 2) What did all his victim have in common, why was Spencer a target? Oh right…it only took him a white van for him to be kidnapped. It’s truely a comedy movie not a thriller and certainly not a mystery. Save yourself time and do not waste your money in cinema.

Save your time, don’t watch. If I could give a 0 star I would. the director has no passion for this storyline. In the beginning, a minimum of 25% effort was put in, then the rest was nothing but laziness into the directing because that’s when audiences became bored. Martha? No relevance. Chris? A add on character for diversity. The realtors scaring off Logan every encounter they have…just for the audience to be jump-scared.

Out of all the movies of thriller and horror I’ve seen, this has the happily ever after ending that gives you that satisfying feeling of knowing there’s peace. Usually you don’t get that, but us as audience, this delivery of ending was absolutely a 10/10. Overall well done, great performance, amazing symbolisms used as well as hidden message that encourages the audience to become an apart of.
