2 stars is being generous. I honestly don't know they keep making reboots off this movie, when it only makes the book(s) look bad. The characters were under developed, and the story was a rushed-jumbled mess, and even though King was listed as a producer, he can't possibly need the money that bad. But this is Stephen King, he's a mster of horror 🤷🏻‍♀️ But the glowing crosses? I literally waited for glowing paper straws 🙄

I'm not impressed and it does not compare to the previous Vikings series, (of which this new tale is based on 100 years later) So far I've seen scenes bounce around back and forth, can't grasp who's who, there's little excitement to keep me really wanting more and the fights aren't as fierce and violent BUT there are only 8 episodes so I'll give it a chance.

You don't have to be Chinese to appreciate the culture or even martial arts. I was skeptical about this series, especially after the trailer, but after getting into a few episodes the series isn't half bad. And I'm glad there was some what of an intro in the beginning of the series telling her backstory instead of just throwing the story at you, so that's a plus. Easy to follow from the beginning. Once you get passed the Asian "Nancy Drew" solving cases and protecting the innocent, or even the stopping the bad guy (or in this case woman) from gaining the ultimate power, it's a fun series with some good fight scenes that are quite repetitive in movement but still better than Wu Assassins. It's cool seeing a female warrior for a change instead of dudes. And considering the "stop Asian hate" motto going around and lack of Asian representation, I'm surprised this series isn't getting a lot of hype considering its cast, I would definitely recommend this series to friends.

I didn't hate it but I didn't love it! This Mortal Kombat film adaptation still felt a video game on screen and it's a shame because at least video games have more of a plot than this film that was rushed to squeeze everything in the time frame given. The fight sequences were a disappointment considering the hype it's been getting and the acting (kudos to the cast for their hard work) seemed a little quick and sharp then onto a few second fight! I had such hopes, shame but to each their own. The only fights I can say were the best? The fights between Scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada) and Sub-Zero (Joe Taslmin) and if there is a second film, I do hope they bring Johnny Cage into the fold that way there's at least some of the original MK universe! Though I am a big fan of Lewis Tan, his character Cole Young had no importance to the film and wanted to see more of his fighting style!

This movie is like every other "who killed her" serial killer film, but left the actual "who done it" plot out. Although Denzel and Jared were outstanding in their performances, especially Jared, I was disappointed because it just dragged on and on with no action or thrilling concepts. If anything, I thought maybe Denzel's character was the killer by the way the film ended, with his character knowing how to cover his tracks and it's not his cop background either. But who knows? And although he's a known actor, Rami's acting was absolutely terrible and flat, and his character was stupid for getting into the car with Jared! FYI, you don't do that! Sorry if I added spoilers!

When it comes to representing Latinas or Latinos in TV or film, it's difficult because everyone has their own ideals of what it means to be Hispanic. This series falls a little short in many aspects. For starters, Selena was NOT thin but curvy and although Christian was chosen to portray the singer, she did not resemble her. I'm sorry. Now, if this portrayal of papa Abraham is accurate in any way, he was such a harda** and too tough on the family of which was a main focal point of this series. Yes, family is important and although it was nice seeing the close ties, it was too constant. This series was definitely from a Hollywood POV ignoring the cultural roots. It's one thing being headstrong and the leader of the family, but he was too possessive! He acts like he has (or had) a secret obsession over Selena, sorry not sorry! I will though, watch the next part to see how they finish the story and how accurate the details, from what everyone already knows, but so far, this series just had a lot of nonsense thrown in as the majority fill in, while having the smaller real-life events to glue to it together.

I've stated this elsewhere for promotional purposes but it was something light hearted for the holidays, bringing some kind of joy. However, oh boy, wasn't a fan. Before watching, I read early critic reviews and they weren't kidding when they said it was an ENCHANTED rip off because there were far too many similarities but while at the same time, can't even compare the two films. There was way too much nonsensical nonsense that was just thrown together for the sake of putting a film on screen. There was no originality to this story, sorry to say. The humor, if anything, was forced and all I got out of this film was the believing in yourself and that finding a Prince Charming doesn't mean the only form of happiness. The cast though, was well picked and the acting was well, adequate enough for the roles given but still lacked character.

I'm weary of these sort of British comedy series for some of them are quirky and weird, with very dry British humor (no offense to anyone) but this series is rather cute with a twist to BeetleJuice. The actors have my applause. Not sure if there's a season 3 but I'm already on season 2 :)

This is an amazing series Great cast, screenplay, costuming, location and everything else in between! Full of intrigue, mystery and loads of drama that blend together perfectly! Reminds me of Tudors and that's a compliment for that was a great series as well!

These are one of those films that are low budget but entertaining in a crappy sort of way! Sorry, but I've seen much better low budget films than this that have better acting, not to mention the English humor throughout was horrible!
