My kids wanted to go watch this. I’ve never played the games, and saw all the bad reviews on line so wasn’t expecting much. Honestly it was a decent movie. You do not need to know anything about the game to enjoy it. My kids and their friend really enjoyed it. They gave it 4 stars each. Two 12 year old boys and my 14 year old daughter. A couple of jump scares but nothing too scary.
