“There are no angels in Baton Noir. Only devils.”

I honestly bought this book because of the unique and attention-grabbing cover, and can I just say this was one of the best books I've read. The book paints such a colorful yet dark picture of a supernatural jazz city, a sort of magical mirror universe of New Orleans. The characters creep into your being, and the story keeps you on edge. When reading this, you can feel the Baton Noir air around you, hear the jazz music, and almost taste the Gumbo. This is a read even for those who don't like supernatural stories. It's a book for all. Alex Bell does an amazing job by getting the reader emotionally attached to even the evil characters. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5!!!!
