Origins is a fantastic 180 in the right direction for the Dynasty franchise, with combat feeling more visceral and cinematic than ever before, with more combos, distinct weapon feel, and the ultimate bad-assery we all loved from the series now given more depth. You actually have to block and dodge now on occasion! However, the reason I only gave it 4 stars is because of the bland protagonist. He is a true walking robot of emotion. Other than that, I don't play Dynasty Warriors for the story, I play for the combat, which Origins does better than any other entry in the series. 4/5 stars, or 850/1000 KOs.
