If only more emotional scenes were utilised this could have been a great movie. Alas the director prefers extreme gory action and explicit scenes of sex and violence since the content in this movie is homage to the likes of Tarantino et al. So if you also like your protagonist as a highly charged testosterone boosting alpha male going round killing badguys on his own with a single axe then this is the movie for you! If on the other hand you were caught up in the trailers (like me) where you saw a fragile relationship between father and son then you will feel disappointed as there is barely any storyline here. Script wise nothing makes sense just the director will find any excuse to showcase senseless action and scenes of explicit nature. And at 3 hours and 20 minutes it is way too long! On the plus side the music is good (but nowhere near as good as the director’s previous Kabir Singh). Some of the action scenes look very cool and are well choreographed. Ranbir Kapoor’s acting is the highlight, literally award worthy performance. Overall the movie could have done with less action and more emotional scenes like the one at the end between father and son…
