I watched Judge Mathis and I think he is one the best African American males on television. He portrays very strong image for the African American community and for all communities.
I would to educate the Judge on understanding substance use and the disease of addiction. Just like how we have evolved on understanding LGBQ community and the language . Changing our understanding with the disease of addiction and the terminology and removing the stigma is imperative. Love you Judge but your a little behind on understanding addiction at least on television. I have been in SUD field sine 1991.I am old school but have evolved to understand SUD community of today. Our language and approach has changed , no longer do we use crack head , dope fiend and other terminology. Showing motivation care and concern, no judgement , empathy , no matter how we may personally feel about the person. Love let me educate you its what I do now as a professional in SUD community. Keep up the good work.
