It was literally the worst movie I've ever seen in theaters, and that bar was set really, really low with the horrible A-team movie, so I don't know how it didn't manage to clear that.
The plot was paper-thin, a stagnant bog has more action, the twist ending was unbelievably predictable, and all-around, I was bored to tears.
For something that was supposed to be a deep, cranial think piece about coming to terms with one's issues, ad astra missed the mark in every last way. Hell, if you want a deeper, more entertaining piece of media about daddy issues, go watch the 90s cartoon Ren and Stimpy. I'm not even kidding, a 30 year old gross-out cartoon had better writing. That's sad.
