This is just bad story telling. As in, there is not discernible story. Not a progression. No conclusion. It is a collection of standard suspense building tools: animals acting strangely, unknown enemies, fear of terrorism, odd human behaviors. Airplanes dropping out of the sky. On and on. Couple that with some social media length bursts of stereotypical human behavior: cynical white people. Angry black people. Preachy dialogue. Unbelievably quick and complete transformation of character’s behaviors. It’s a convoluted mess that doesn’t land most of its points because it’s trying to make too many! Decent intentions - weak execution. Probably should have stayed a book.
