Averi Maroney

One of my favorite versions of my favorite turtles. The creators brought a fresh perspective, kept things interesting and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. It made my heart hurt in the best way possible, and I am sincerely hoping they go through with season 3. Raph and Leo’s relationship is completely backwards, and while Leo is often seen scolding Raph for wanting to be rough or independent, in this iteration we see Raph playing big brother and just trying to teach Leo how very important it is to watch out for their family, to keep them safe and protected. Instead of seeing Leo lead ‘just because’, the creators put in so much effort and energy into Leo’s character development (they did that for a lot of things). He learns firsthand what is at risk if he doesn’t take his role seriously, he realizes how important it is to understand that people are relying on him. This is a big deal! Kudos to creators, I love you, I love the show, love the movie. I hope there’s more.
