This version has attempted to be turned into a Bridgertonesque rom com with some differences. Bridgerton never claims to be anything other than what it is and is funny and clever, it is also not based on a classic book. This version of Persuasion completely lacks depth, makes Anne an alcohol dependent whimp and Wentworth scruffy and desperate. The story seems to have been skirted over in many parts. Sorry but Austen would be turning in her grave.
