A lot of Overacting...thin script (dialogue) threw in the towel after the Detective screamed at clerk at the airport...no Silence of the Lambs...

So much to like about this film. The acting the story the setting. I am a Vietnam Veteran a non combat Veteran, but still but the emotional pull of fraternity that I was part of as well as the history we all lived through if we were lucky enough to return was very powerful. Emotional, through provoking and I was so moved by the film. Bravo to Spike Lee and a cast worth repeating. Makes Rambo look like a cartoon.

Good movie...could have been great. A lot of attention has been paid to “ the way it was shot” almost in continuous real time fashion. Technically very nicely done but the story feels contrived, and the movie lacks a real emotional depth and feels artificial at times. The story never really grabbed me. The last scene was very beautiful. The scene with the soldier singing to a group of hardened troops reminded me a lot of the last scene in Paths of Glory. A little borrowing perhaps?
