There's a lot of potential for emotional conflicts and arcs, but none of it quite hits. As a result, Drifting Home is in an interesting setup but an unfortunately mediocre watch.
Ok, to give credit: in looks it's AMAZING. Beautifully animated all the way through its long runtime.
However, that runtime largely is due to the amount of time the characters spend arguing with one another, lamenting their faults, and flailing around. Despite their colourful personalities, the writing fails to make them likeable, causing the film to quickly become unengaging.
