I've been listening to Mystwick School of Musicraft with my 7 and 12 year old children. We listen while we are driving places, and we've had many times when we've pulled in somewhere and the kids have begged me not to turn the car off so they can keep listening. The kids have even begged me if we can drive around just to listen to the book.
This book is the story of a girl who attends a school for magical kids who can make magic using musical instruments. Amelia Jones accidentally gets an invitation to the school, as there was another student named Amelia Jones who was supposed to receive the invitation. Getting to the school she finds she's immediately disliked by people who knew the other Amelia Jones, she has only one friend, and she's haunted by a ghost. She learns a lot about being a friend, about her abilities as a magical musician, and about her past.
What makes the audiobook extra special is that the music referenced in the book is actually played by the New Jersey Symphony Youth Orchestra! The music is woven seamlessly throughout the book and makes for a highly immersive experience.
