I love the Today Show. However, this morning (April 24, 2023), they had a segment on the USS GEORGE HW BUSH, returning after an 8 1/2 month deployment. They did not even mention one of the other ships that was in their strike group (the USS LEYTE GULF) which returned a few hours ahead of them. I feel the omission was because the BUSH is an aircraft carrier and the LEYTE GULF is a cruiser, which is a much smaller ship. However, they deserved at least to be mentioned in the segment. Those sailors and their families are just as important. NBC NEWS, let’s be fair here!
