Love the game but it leaves a lot to be desired especially in RTTS but also somewhat in franchise mode. I want to be able to actually retire when I tell my agent I am retiring. I want there to be some type of acknowledgement of the career you’ve had in that last season which used to be a thing. And when it finally forces you to retire there’s nothing else to it but a note saying something about it being a good career and your player is destined for the hall of fame. I want to see my career achievements and awards laid out there and not have to scroll through a list of everything I’ve ever done in my career to find them. More importantly, I want my performance to matter. If I’m doing bad with a low overall I stay in the minors or get sent down. I want the realism of spending years in the minors if that’s what is realistic for my player like in the previous games. Also what happened deteriorating skills as the player gets older? I want a realistic career and maybe it doesn’t just end with a note after you retire. Maybe you can become a manager and in 5 years time or so see yourself actually go to the hall of fame. Franchise mode needs to see the return of setting ticket and concession prices and managing training equipment as well as maybe the return of that ‘08 newspaper. Set up bobble head nights and promotions. I would love to also be able to set managerial tendencies and/or hire my team’s manager based on those tendencies. Maybe I want my team to be more aggressive and play more small ball. Maybe I want my slugging outfielder to be substituted in the late innings of a close game by a better fielder off the bench. Maybe I want certain pitchers to go deeper in games to to be taken out after 5. Maybe I want my platoon hitting catcher to be swapped out later in the game with my other platoon hitting catcher depending on the pitcher. Maybe I’d like certain relievers to be used more than others. There are so many ways this game could improve and several ways it’s actually gone backwards. Just because animations and graphics improve doesn’t mean we care to settle for worse gameplay and fewer aspects to the game. Please, San Diego Studio, do better. I’ve been playing this franchise for a long time and I hate to see the game underperform. It has so much potential
