Much potential but a massive budget was wasted on a thin-as-air plot filled with alien invasion cliches, b-grade screenplay, unconvincing character motivations and all at the pace of a snail’s crawl. The redeeming features it had - scary aliens and the unknowns of what they are capable of, the gifted kid, the alien language etc - were completely overshadowed by the bollocks. I watched to the end to give it a chance to redeem itself but no cigar. Excruciating hours I’ll never get back.
