Monne Gio

An excellently written, and revealing book of the history of this famous city and place of the world. I was struck enough by the book to buy C.F.Cavafy poems, and I am especially enamoured by ' in a café', and this echos the authors initial cafe trip. The train along the coast , where cleopatra bathed like many facts in this wonderful book stick with you. I was in search of one of the famous café songs, and settled on a Dalida version. Hours of enjoyable reading, and too much to process in one setting. Extraordinary.
