Keep in mind I haven’t read the book, so hopefully it’s better than this. The pacing of the show is weirdly done, as although the flashbacks are well filmed & with decent acting the bits with the author & Lali keep interrupting the story… and not in a way where you’re moved by the sudden juxtaposition or particularly eager to hear what he says next. There is also some repetition as scenes jump around non-chronologically. I understand the intent is to convey that there are different ways to remember the events, but as a viewer it just felt superfluous.
I feel this had so much potential but something went wrong in transitioning it to a series, maybe a movie would’ve been better. I’m only on episode 2 and struggling to finish. I recommend Life Is Beautiful instead.
