I am not one to watch rom-coms but when I heard Adam Brody was playing a hot rabbi I couldn’t resist. I also am not a huge fan of Kristen Bell… she just doesn’t seem relatable. So while I really loved the chemistry that happened at the beginning of the series that dissipated until the last episode. And I had a hard time getting into the side stories with the two sisters and the Sasha and Esther. There definitely seemed like some stereotypes going on and I would have liked to have seen more depth to those characters. I was pleasantly surprised by Rebecca’s character development though. The ending was sweet but are we to really believe he would turn away from Judaism after dreaming of becoming a head rabbi since childhood? If she loves him she needs to convert. So even though I have my little criticisms I did binge on this. And I would probably be curious enough to check out season 2 if they make one.
