Love the show but have a hard time with the shrill, obnoxious sounding (and acting) British women always going off on Frost. It really hurts my ears to listen to them. If they’re not shrieking at Frost (or their boyfriends/husbands) because of their trigger tempers, they’re gloomy and depressed. The upper class women (and men) on the show aren’t shrill, but they’re often not very likable—rather haughty and class conscious.Really, there seems to be a general disrespect—men and women—shown towards the police in general ... even the people they’re trying to help. Hopefully this show isn’t representative of life in the UK. If it is, it’s pretty depressing! (I visited Cornwall where my grandfather was born and they were quite friendly—maybe because it wasn’t an urban area.) I am curious to know how accurate this show is in terms of the way Brits were typically depicted in this show—at least during the 90’s.
