Brothers Conflict… oh boy. This anime made me physically cringe, so badly that, in fact, I cried of cringe and was paralyzed for 3 hours straight (help 😭). Let me begin the rant… SECTION 1: The Plot/Premise I honestly don’t even know where to start with this one. From the beginning, I guess. Chii (at least I think that’s her name) is a 17-year-old highschool girl who is moving in with 13 sons of her soon-to-be stepmother. If that wasn’t already REASONABLE enough, Chii’s father and stepmother randomly disappear for who knows why, for basically the entire show, and most of the brothers immediately do suggestive things (like hugging Chii a little too close) upon greeting her. Also, she has a talking squirrel that only she can understand for some reason. AmAzInG story so far!! But then why are ALL thirteen sons living together, considering some have full-time jobs (popstar, lawyer, pediatrician, voice actor, etc.)? And why are they all living in some big mansion-like thing? But that’s not even the worst part. All thirteen sons, ranging from ages 10-31, LOOOOOVE Chii. By the way, her squirrel can also turn into a human. 😭😭😭😭😭 SECTION 2: The Characters (oh golly goodness) *having cringe tears right now* I suppose we’ll begin with the poor, poor protagonist- Chii. I already talked about her a lot before, but she’s okay. Kind of average shoujo girl though- nice, has a bunch of love interests, all the regular stuff. And oh brother (pun intended), do I feel bad for her. The poor girl constantly gets hit on, teased, assaulted, etc. The 10-year-old (I forgot his name, sorry) is fine, but SHOULD NOT BE A LOVE INTEREST. Next to the Futo guy- or should I say- THING. He’s one of the three love interests that’s actually within 3 years of Chii’s age, but he’s such a friggin creep. He constantly hits on Chii, assaults her… and the list goes on. I hate Futo, please send him to jail. Next, the best love interest by far (even though the bar isn’t that high), is Yusuke. I actually like his character because he had a crush on Chii before she moved in, isn’t a creep or too old for her, and actually cares about her feelings. To Subaru (the basketball guy)! I don’t have much to say about him. His only identifiable personality trait is that he likes basketball. I won’t talk about all the characters bc I forgot their existence, so to the infamous white-hair boy (Tsubaki). I very much dislike this character. Not hate though, because I think he has some okay moments. But still… He’s 24, right? And Chii is 17? And he makes out with her a lot without permission? Azusa is the glasses boy, and pretty much is alright except for the age gap. BUT OML THE MONK GUY?? I’m not sure if this is allowed for his religion… that’s he’s age 29 and can hit on girls (if this is allowed for his beliefs I’m sorry)… SECTION 3: The Conclusion I haven’t even finished watching this anime but it’s super cringy… If you wanna watch it that’s fine, as this is just my measly opinion, but uh… yeah.

I have a good lot to say about this anime. The art and animation is alright and it has some pretty interesting characters. However, I cannot get over how annoying the protagonist is. Sariphi is useless, bland, naive, and acts like an 8-year-old. She is weak and never really does anything, unless you count being saved by Leonheart numerous times. Another thing, the whole setting of the story is basically in a dusty castle with no vibrancy whatsoever. Also, it is extremely boring to just watch characters talking for more than half of the show. But earlier, as I was saying, Sariphi as the main character basically ruins the series. She also has a lack of character development. This anime would be so much more interesting, and, in general, better, if Sariphi wasn't the protagonist and this was NOT a romance. I also do not approve of the romantic interest. Leonheart is over a hundred years old (or at least that's what I perceived) and doesn't really give romantic vibes. Allegedly, he is in his mid-twenties in beast years, but there is still a major age gap between 15 and 25. If you're wondering why I gave this two stars and not just one, it's due to some of the better characters that have well thought out personalities and backstories. A few of these characters include: Lanteveldt, Gorman, Ilya, and especially Anubis. I thought it was interesting how this anime included a character based off of an ancient Egyptian myth. I also think that his personality fits so well with everything (I also like how he despises Sariphi). The villains are amazing as well. None of the interesting characters get enough screentime, and a lot of them are introduced later in the show, mostly Ilya. Ilya is my second favorite character, only to be behind Anubis. I would actually enjoy this anime if Ilya was the MAIN CHARACTER, and it wasn't a romance. This would be such a great series if it literally just removed Sariphi, wasn't a romance, and had much more action and fighting. For my last rant about this series, I think that, speaking of fighting, the scenes were cool, but short. There are about two fights in the entire show. I would love it if there was more action. In conclusion, this anime... is nothing short of horrendous. I get that this is made for slow-paced fantasy romance fans and that I’m a Dragon Ball fan, but I cannot believe that my younger sister wasted her time watching the show. I saw most of the series, but I literally don't even remember half of it. So, yeah. I would not recommend this anime if you like action or fantasy. A true disgrace to the fantasy genre. Then again, this is my opinion, but I hope you keep it in mind if you decide to watch Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts.

Vampire Knight- a nostalgic anime that was very popular in the late 2000s. I’m sure a lot of people love this anime, but, personally, I am not one of them. My younger sister is obsessed with this, but I cannot see why she thinks it’s the best anime. She’s watching it for the 7th time RIGHT NOW. To start off, I’ll talk about the art. Now, I know this was 2008 and whatever, but the art…. sucks. The eyes are gigantic, boys are- like- elongated or something, the coloring’s bad, and Yuki’s hair looks like sewer rat fur. The guys who are supposed to be super handsome kinda just look weird. Triangle chins are not ideal in beauty standards. And, how Yuki is supposed to be really pretty, I think that everyone else is way better looking than her. She is so ugly that I literally wanted someone else to be the main character. That brings me to the next paragraph. All the characters are absolutely HORRENDOUS. Yuki… I don’t even know where to start. Kinda stupid, useless, cries all the time, especially later in the series. She starts off interesting, as she has a sort of fiery sense to her, but she just devolves into a basic, cliche sorta girl that is flavorless. Kaname in the beginning is okay as well, but the fact that he’s her brother gives me goosebumps… and not the good kind. Zero is fine. Now here’s a special mention! Rima Toya (who’s so irrelevant that I had to search up her name), is so boring that the writers had to make her eat Pocky all the time so that nobody forgot about her. (Alas, that did not work.) Next, let me talk about how horribly the voice actors did. Some were fine, but I think Kaname and Yuki had the worst voices. Yuki has the voice of a toddler, and when she tries to act all mysterious and whatever, she just sounds stupid. Now, to the infamous Kaname! He always randomly has weird pauses when he’s speaking, like: “I… do… not know.” That really messes it up for me. Also, I get he’s supposed to be calm and chill or something, but him being monotone all the time ruins the whole mood. So, you can obviously see why this anime is a waste of time, right? However, if you still want to watch this anime after reading my review, then go ahead, I’m not stopping you. There’s better ways to spend your time though.
