Bizarre comments criticising the programme. Obviously irritated those expecting Endeavour type drama. Also, they complained about the unsympathetic character portrayed by AMMw-really??? Apparently she was expected to be grateful when the police didn't investigate her original complaint adequately. Then,a fool of a magistrate allowed Sweeney out on bail so he could spend time with his family at Xmas. He was finally convicted and sentenced to four life sentences which apparently amounted to just nine years in real terms.The stupidity of the justice system and those who administer it was all too apparent. It was only when joined up cooperation between Dutch police and a fresher UK police investigation implicated Sweeney of murder in Holland, and that of a young woman whose body was found in Regent's Canal that he finally received his deserved sentence. The portrayal of Delia Balmer revealed her to be difficult character which seems to have upset some viewers. However, it was hard not to sympathise with her when you consider how long she had to fight for justice,and the way she was treated. Ask yourself how you would react after being bound naked to a bed for days and then asked by some dumb plod how long were you engaged in this sado masochistic relationship?

Interesting begining, Carey Mulligan excellent, but rest of film didn't live up to it. Think director has a tin ear as music soundtrack was truly awful, something only a very young teen would listen to.
