Bobbi Reichtell

I feel like I have to finish this book because it was my pick for my book club. I texted them halfway in to apologize for the selection. Could anything be more boring than the basketball story line throughout? The book is populated with flat characters who have pretty boring inner lives. The reviews of this book are more interesting and authentic than the book itself. I keep asking myself “Why did Oprah pick this book?”

Long and repetitive scenes of the hard farming life in Texas and California detracted from the flow of the story. Boring at many points because of this - the author could have cut 200 pages and it would have been a much better read.
