Really weird that people call this a feminist movie. It's absolutely exploitative and has nothing to do with the feminism I grew up with. This is a celebration of the sexual liberation of a woman with a child's brain. In our society taking advantage of a woman with a childlike brain is not celebrated or considered liberating for her. Too many pseudo intellectuals thinking it's some sort if genius experiment of a film. Just because it's quirky and colourful and there's a few phrases here and there questioning patriarchy does not make this a feminist masterpiece. The acting is good however. The music is awful.

I found this the most tedious preachy movie out there, but then I guess Im from a generation who genuinely believe we made some change. Why do people these days have to turn everything lighthearted and fun into a deep message. The best part was Ken wearing a hood that says "I'm Kenough." I feel robbed! OK well I suppose for the latest female generation who constantly tart themselves up there might be a relevant message and maybe we can stop treating boys like they are invalid. As a mum who hears this preached to her sons everyday perhaps a movie like Barbie really is the only way to get the message across - when you're least expecting it.
