Kevin Maher, in The Times, wrote a rather harsh review of this film. He complains about the music, about the special FX, about Phoebe Waller Bridge loosing her sleeves and so on.
I take a different view. It's a thrilling movie that is loyal to the mini-genre to which it belongs. The action is reassuringly balanced by some pseudo academic science mumbo jumbo. Harrison Ford and Waller Bridge bounce off each other well and it is gratifying to see the return of John Rhys Davies. Antonio Banderas makes a short but cool appearance.
The CGI that makes Ford look young again is, quite simply, extraordinary. In future, I will insist that all pictures of me are taken that way! I also found Ford's performance as an older man to be perfectly believable.
My recommendation to Indy fans is to ignore overly rough reviews and enjoy the fun, the action and, yes, John Williams's marvellous music.
