Amazing performances and the best soundtrack to a Batman movie since Danny Elfman was involved. Almost more of a dark, gritty, noir thriller with horror movie and superhero overtones. Both fans of the comics and newcomers alike, will find something to enjoy. Some heavy social themes are explored but the film manages to balance that with bits of subtle humor strewn throughout it's runtime. The action scenes are well choreographed and have a realistic, raw feel to them. The film has a very foreboding, darkly atmospheric feel, but there is hope and a bright side that comes through in the end. Characters are fleshed out and well developed. Best Riddler to ever appear onscreen and Catwoman, Penguin, Falcone, Gordon and Batman himself are definitely up there as some of the best interpretations ever. Highly recommended.
