Okay so how I see this movie is interesting. I really like the concept of this movie and the story it tells. A young girl (Amy) breaking free from a super religious and conservative family, she feels like she cant talk to them and be honest, soon her father married another women and it puts her in a lonely feeling when seeing her mother burst into tears and neglecting her own feelings to "be for god" letting her ex and his new wife stay with them, Amy severs the relationship with her father and is stuck heartbroken. near the end, however, the mom starts accepting Amy's feelings and accepts her thoughts. This young girl expresses herself through dance and tries to fit in to the cooler kids of school "cuties" and wants to show off that she is proud to have her body and talent. These girls are the bullies of the school and trying to prove herself becomes more like them and even worse. My question is why 11? Watching this movie I saw cutie little kids who shouldn't be wearing provocative clothing, starting fights, sending nudes, and being rude and dramatic, they should be playing with dolls, or pretending they are a famous singer/actress. I would love this movie if it was consistent with the story and they were 17-18 yrs of age being played by 20 yr olds. They are way too young and this movie is completely unrealistic. At 11 years old, you don't think about being sexy or having sex you think of playing hopscotch on the sidewalk or playing with toys. Why couldn't these girls be older than 11 its sick and the "movie for pedophiles". These poor children have no idea what Hollywood set them up for and that's sad. If these girls were older it may be more relatable and a better movie but this is ridiculous. Please Netflix, understand this is wrong. The story was good the age was awful. These girls now look like objects, they are little girls. The mini skirts, cleavage, and crop tops, on top of them dancing like they were at a strip club is so wrong. This movie would be so much better if the girls were older. Look at the facts, older men defended this movie. Ask yourself, what does that tell the world?
