I really enjoyed this movie & highly recommend it. Fun to see Matt Dillion, Cole Hauser (now in Yellowstone) & Ben Affleck BEFORE they all made it big.
I stumbled upon it, started watching & felt very compelled to watch it thru..which is unusual as movies rarely hold my attention. There was so much deep meaning behind all the script. What it's like to be different, & struggle for acceptance, what it's like to be in a very "follow the crowd" preppy environmental, the peer pressure, etc. And it definitely depicted the pressure Jewish people felt on this country in the 1920's. This country was opening, BLATANTLY antisemitic. It also depicted an excellent example of integrity & strong character portrayed by David, & the stark contrast portrayed by Dillion portrayed by Matt Dillon's character. It was just a good, clean storyline. Very enjoyable, if not disappointing due to the lack of acceptance David ever experienced.
