What a surprise just how much I enjoyed the dark comedy. I never expected this to be such a pleasure to watch. Ive liked McBride and Hill dark comedies for a long time for some reason Vice Principals was just different for me . I was constantly surprised by the way the story went and because I've watched McBride/Hill comedies I guess I thought I knew where the storyline would go, I was definitely wrong...which made it a even better story arc for me. It's probably not for everyone, but for the ones who like ( there will be many) they will love this . The Danny McBride /Walter Groggins team is genius together . I would love to see them in a Farrelly Brothers flick together..they are pure genius.. Walter Groggins is totally underrated as a character actor.. He could win an Oscar before he's thru .. he just needs the right role to shine bright in!!!

Great kids movie. I enjoyed it as well.

Excellent film. Disturbing at times. Noir at its finest. The story is gritty,sexy, disturbing ,and shocking. Nicole Kidman is outstanding. She has become one of the best actors of our time. John Cusack is jaw dropping sickening evil playing the villian. Zac Efron surprised me with a solid performance . The cast were all on point. The story kept me on the edge of my seat. This is a movie that can be uncomfortable to watch during certain scenes, but great movies with great actors who can make you feel uncomfortable is what makes this such an outstanding film. The cinematography is breathtaking. This is a must see movie in my opinion.

This is definitely not a film for everyone. This is a film for those who have had similar experiences (even if they are a lot less dramatic). This is about a person who destroys everything and everyone he touches. It's really a sad tale of a man who is seems happy, but is he really? It's a definite thought provoking movie.. I don't think of it as a "stoner movie" which it has been called by many, I think it's a movie about what one wants out of their life.. really really wants..not what your suppose to want but deep down what you want .just my opinion.. Excellent soundtrack for anyone over 35!!!

This was terrible. It's listed as a comedy, so I was expecting a black comedy. Nope it was nothing it was awful from beginning to end. Don't WASTE YOUR TIME.

I think Cusack is one the most underrated actors of our times. 1408 is not the best King work. I've seen better from King, Cusack, and the always in your face style of Jackson, but it's enjoyable. It's exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat. I can say it probably would not have worked for me without my favorite actor, Cusack.

Wow, most of these reviews are jokes I assume. So the movie is a great ensemble cast. It wasn't historically completely correct, but still a decent movie. Interesting to watch for sure. The acting was great of course, but it didn't have a good flow for me. It just seemed chopped together. I didn't hate it, but I expected more.

Great movie. Underrated. Critics just don't have a clue. I should say professional critics. The soundtrack is excellent . The scenery is beautiful. The sprawling Pennsylvania outdoors is almost its own character as it plays such a vital part in this movie. It's a movie of family, betrayal, and loyalty as two boys come of age in the shadow of a larger than life or death father. The acting of course is some of the best you can get with a young Sean Penn who is as good then as he is now and his brother Christopher (not quite his brother) but still maybe his best work ,at least that I've seen. Christopher Walken as smooth as ever. He was this character. I love movies like this so I know I'm gushing, but this is must see. Mary Stuart Masterson is the love interest and is great as well. She was the best back in the 80's at this character type. I wanted to be her and all the guys wanted to be with her. Don't want to go into detail because the movie should be watched unknowing. So take my word for it . Fan of any of these actors makes it worth on that alone... Enjoy. I have more than once.

Great music movie. The music is some of the best, the acting is amazing. Robert Townsend is so underrated as a director. I would recommend this movie.

It's a modern day American Gigolo movie minus Richard Gere. While I didn't hate it, I didn't love it either. The story seemed clique and shallow. I realize it's a movie so it can be about a shallow subject and be enjoyable think Boogie Nights, however this is not enjoyable, funny, or good satire. Really not worth the time it took to watch. Sorry Ashton. Anne Hechehad done sooooo much better work. Let's just move on
