I never played any of the dark souls games. Played maybe 3 hours of Bloodborne. Couldn’t get into it and like most hated how it didn’t teach me and hold my hand. Then years down Nioh and Nioh 2 came out and had my attention and they weren’t by From Software but based on the “souls” themes. Needless to say maxed out both games with over 100 hours on both? I respected and understood the genre so much more and came to love it and Sekiro as well and pre ordered it and loved it. Then Elden Ring. I was intimidated like most who isn’t a veteran so to say but knew how it worked, I got as of right now 60 hours in and I’m maybe halfway in the story and haven’t fully explored three areas. There’s just so much to do and everything has your attention you don’t know where to put it and it’s addicting in a sense because you WANT to go look or you WANT to go explore and fight. If your afraid of the boss fights or builds? Take it from me, you have nothing but options and yes it is a hard game but not so hard that you wanna give up and not play it. They make it in a way to tackle from so many angles? That even a new player to the genre can beat the scariest thing out of your nightmares in this game. It’s beautiful, engaging, freely open to your playstyle and where you wanna go and do what YOU wanna do. In my opinion The Witcher 3 was always the best game ever. But it has been vested by Elden Ring and in my opinion will go down as a grand masterpiece and greatest game of all time. All I can say is please just give this game a chance and you won’t be able to stop playing because it’s not only that good? But so addicting.
