Slow, depressing, uneven pacing, Elvis is portrayed in, at best,a marginal light, and of course, one-sided; Priscilla's perspective. Love Sophia Coppola's work, but this was disappointing.
However, I did "feel" for Priscilla at such a young age catapulted into a drugs, rock & roll life, raucous, adult life, trying to learn who she was. Such a young girl, literally, thrust into this surreal lifestyle! Adequate production or not, one cannot help but feel sorry for the pubescent girl.
The *only* moment my eyes filled up with genuine sympathy was as she was leaving Graceland for good, driving through those open, ostentatious gates with Dolly Parton singing her masterwork, "I Will Always Love You." Okay, maybe a bit corny, but that moment *worked* but only that moment.
