I bought this book from a charity shop. From the title it looked very interesting. Having a young grandchild I could, to some degree, empathise with the predicament that is at the centre of the story.
However, it wasn’t long before I began to wonder why the author included so many dreadful swear words: F words and B words. As I read the book I numbered these dreadful swear words and counted 105! In addition, the author includes a similar number of blasphemous words which I also found dreadful. I counted 103 of these. Doesn’t the author have any respect for the God who made her and for those who revere the name of Jesus Christ and who never abuse his name by using it as a swear word? Why did she have to include over 200 instances of foul and blasphemous language?
There is no need for such language. I certainly won’t be reading any more of her books. I challenge her to write a book without such awful language.
