Do not go into watching this movie with any expectations, go in with a very open mind. Expect to be a little confused at times, as to where the plot is going, but know that it’s going to be an intriguing and colorful ride. I do believe Coppola wanted to compare past history with modern history as far as politics go with what’s going on in the world these days. While adding a very complex, storyline that failed to connect at times, making it harder to follow as to where it was going or its point all together. I do personally get where he was going with it, even through all of randomness( too much to explain overall,I don’t want to do any spoilers). In my opinion, some of the pointless characters, I think were casted in it just to add a famous actor into the movie for a more pleasurable experience for those who didn’t care for the storyline. I think the acting was superb if that’s the most positive thing someone could say about the movie, I don’t care how much you did or didn’t like it. It was beautiful cinematography, and I do believe he created a unique artistic expression of what he, in his mind wanted to portray. I will say I already loved Shia LaBeouf, and yes his character was very out there but in my opinion his character and his acting in it made it the most entertaining to me, and obviously Adam Driver and Aubrey Plaza where amazing as usual. There were lots of parts of the movie that didn’t seem to have a place in it, if you didn’t care to actually think about it, but when actually realizing what he wanted to create, those parts either make sense or I believe were put in it just to be creative. Overall, I would love to watch it again with someone else and discuss what they thought about it and actually dissect the whole movie bit by bit, just because it did have so many things in it you could dissect.
