I literally stumbled upon this book! I read an article on Quora about this book being wonderful. When I looked up on Amazon, it cost a little more than I could afford. However, on Kindle, it was available for free! I was like, why not?!
Rick (if I may), you caught me be utter surprise! I have a few dozen relatives who have settled abroad and keep complaining about My (Our) country during each of their visits. Similarly, I expected a usual rant!
The way you have described India and your "unofficially adopted sons and daughters", your experience in each of their homes, with the cultural differences, your love for everything to do with this country - is speechless!
You have seen only a Hundredth of what India is. You must visit the interiors of seven sister States of the North East India and South India and all the states you have missed. Trust me, you will simply love it!
Fantastic book! For those who are looking for a proper storyline/ a flow of events or something similar, this book is not for you.
This is only for those who want to connect emotionally. For those who can imagine what a foreigner would be like in India. For those who want a smile at the end of the book.
