Ade Abolarin

I have watched this series about 3 times over and I can't find any holes and it doesn't get old. It is engrossing, fulfilling, everything you want in a show. The buildup and character development was top notch. The animation was also quality. I can't rave about this show enough. The bar was set too high for Castlevania: Nocturne.

I had to edit my review after watching season 3(initially gave it a 5) Shame Jason Mitchell has been written off the show. I was begining to like the chemistry between him and Hibbert and Latimore. Season 3 definitely put a nail in the coffin for the show. The messages being passed along were profound, but the plot, new characters, cinematography was weak. It had no direction, it didn't portray reality. It was so disappointed, there was so much to build upon from season 2. Even Sonja Sohn and her arc added more life to the show than all the new characters combined. Fitzpatrick was not replaced. Doesn't deserve a season 4.

Not sure why the main protagonist was written as clumsy, incompetent and underwhelming. Story plot was also very shallow and cliche. And I hope season 2 has a drastic improvement or else they may have just killed an amazing opportunity. Annette was probably the only character that brought something exciting to the show both backstory and plotline. It did have one great moment, The fight scene in the catacombs with Edouard singing. Every other fight scene was essentially protagonist struggling. I am being generous with a 3 star rating

The pace of the show is very pedestrian but story and plot has been interesting. Acting has gotten better as the show has progressed. Season 2 has gotten a lot better, hope the pace picks up a little.
