It’s one of the few times I thoroughly understand why they deviated from certain points in the book the way they did. An absolute masterclass in book adaptation and filmmaking. The soundtrack, sound design, costuming, cinematography, CGI, practical effects, acting, and lighting all come together perfectly. My all time favorite trilogy is The Lord of the Rings, but this one earns its spot at the same table. Incredible.
