Disappointing. They somehow managed to turn Marilyn into a boring, one dimensional, mentally unhinged diva. The storyline is disjointed (not to mention filled with inaccuracies and padded with things that didn't even happen in her life). The timeline bounces around like time means nothing and not a single scene has any form of conclusion. This film is an abstract painting of moving pictures about a woman who doesn't really exist. I don't know what their vision was, but I'm pretty sure they missed it. There were some visually stunning scenes but all in all this movie reads like a low-budget indie film made by art students in their first year of uni. I don't know the woman on the screen, I just know she was not Norma Jeane and she was certainly not Marilyn Monroe. Don't waste 2 hours and 45 minutes of your life on a film based on fallacies. The actress looked beautiful though.

I enjoyed this movie so much! I was anxious after reading some of the reviews, however I'm glad I didn't let them turn me off. A deeply poetic journey of two mothers and a poisoned water source, with the softest shade of the supernatural weaved in. Fever Dream reminds you, the viewer, and the main character, Amanda, to look at the fine details and you MUST do this to understand the complex story being told. With beautiful filming and a melencholic soundtrack, this movie ticked all of my boxes. This is not a movie to be enjoyed in the back ground, you have to give it your full attention, otherwise you might miss the fine details that tie everything together. 10/10 recommend. This is such a sad and beautiful movie.
