This was an engaging and gut-wrenching documentary. The fear and heartbreak caused by the perpetrator is palpable. This film documents that in this world, some people DO get more than their fair share of grief.
I wish we were given more of a sense of who Andrew was. He was so loved...but that doesn’t show or tell about him. Without having Andrew presented in more depth, more nuance, he seemed little more than a smiling face in a photograph. The movie left me thinking of the director “To have done so much work and been spot on many ways and yet have missed capturing his friend’s essence...”. Well, perhaps I misunderstand. After all, the title is Dear Zachary:...not Dear Andrew.
