This is the best quality BAD MOVIE you will ever see.
I thoroughly believe that this is AI generated and then "polished" with references and an entire SCRIPT composed of quips, easter eggs that have no payoff, and puns that are drier than my my own face during the "emotional moments".
In addition there are so many poorly written pieces of social commentary that seem to be deliberately done without actually being built into the world/story.
--- "family drama" without any actual lessons or drama like they are making fun on newer generation ideals of family without taking the time to examine how that would REALISTICALLY work outside of TV shows structured like Black-ish
--- Dad in film was more sensitive/emotional without toxicity but to the degree of passivity and wife was nice but an upper level middle manger that was the planner (exasperated with family's lack of moxie? I guess???)
--- Shoehorning in tropes like a kid wanting to go to a college away from home, a musician kid who was bad at math but ends up doing a bit at the end thanks to the 12 days of Christmas song, not telling the others about a curse until the "last act", "neighborhood rivalry", small child gives up own wish for others, etc
--- Main cast had some characterization and the on stage black cast had personality while the white characters/cast had a script that made them deliberately nonthreatening/oblivious to the majority of things said to them. (Tried to make an "I don't see color joke but used a LITERALLY painted nutcracker set piece and fell sooo flat)
I'll admit they DID include details that could make a good movie but again just got tossed in
---Commentary on companies' lack of consideration towards people, gifts and prizes not worth the paper they are wrapped in, and how fine print is always bad intentioned
Evil elf on the shelf as the villain could have been something amazing to see but they just did too much with nothing except well known faces
