I too read the book when I heard about the movie. I share in the sentiment that the book is almost always better than the movie. I don't plan on seeing the movie. I am practicing Catholic. I was intrigued by the plot. The book moves quickly and is a true page turner. It comes across as believable. Politics run rampant. There's plenty of deceit and deception. In the end, I appreciated the spiritual struggles some of the characters experience. The book has many surprises and plot twists.Like some reviewers, I found the ending anti-climatic and was left wanting more. In the end, remember that it is well researched work of fiction. Read it for what it is and take away what you will.

I have read some of these reviews. They are written like pros. Me, I just like to watch a good movie. Sure, the acting is superb. The cinematography is outstanding. The director does an excellent job. The story is extremely well written. I’ll bet the book is even better. I watch movies to be entertained. Sometimes to be informed or inspired. I like a beginning and an end in about 2 hours. After waiting years for Dune Part 2, I was hoping for an ending. Now I learn that I’ll have to wait until 2027 for Part 3. My disappointment lies not only with the wait for yet another installment, but also with the trepidation of anticipating a bad turn for the “hero”. Will he really go “dark”? If so, I will feel cheated. All that suffering and anguish, fighting and death for an unhappy ending??? So, maybe I will spare myself and skip Part 3. For anyone who disagrees with anything I’ve written, you are welcome to your opinion. This is mine. Express yourself as freely as I have.
