One of the greatest books I've ever read. Amir's imperfect character is so relatable, and despite me having grown up in a completely different culture.

Gilead feels like a fantasy country than something that might actually happen. Very unrealistic and overrated.

First read this book for an English tutor. As a 15-year old, I can't express in words how much this book and its theme of social-media fueled selfishness resonates with me. Nevertheless, I felt that that the plot was quite bland, and was sort of a disappointment. I had hoped for something much tenser, and eventful after hearing about its cyberpunk setting. The main reason I am giving this book a 4-star despite its awful plot and characters is because the author predicted the society of 2020 incredibly precisely.
