Gripping social realism drama. it never flinches from being grounded, difficult and challenging to watch as all great drama is. This is also real life and it’s powerfully communicated by a brilliant cast of great actors especially four central characters whose performances are remarkable. Alex the young mother is Mesmerising and her genuine bonding with Child actor playing Matty is life enhancing. Andie MacDowell is heart wrenching as the mother and Sean is played with remarkable empathy by Nick Robinson. I just couldn’t stop watching it. I felt personally involved and rewarded as well as exhausted by this understated brilliant series. 👏👏👏
