I really wanted to like this. I tried to watch it, I really did but as I am not a paid reviewer I could barely get through the torture of episode 1. I know the lore very well and this is not it in any way. The only positive is the cinematic but the wide shots also feel random and unnatural as if the show expects you to be in awe of it.
The acting is appalling. No one seems to understand their role (including me) and there is zero character development. It appears that all characters are based on some crazed idea of a stereotype. So so wrong, lazy and poorly done.
The writing is dry, slow, unintelligent and dull. Perhaps this is why the actors and actresses couldn't bring anything to life or find their roles?
Considering how much Amazon spent on this and how much I love LoTR, this was such a deep disappointment, it is so bad it is actually offensive.
There is a lesson here for all the children of great people, be careful who you sell your parents legacy too!
Amazon please stop advertising this rubbish and let it die quietly so we can forget the crime you commited against art and culture.
