The Acolyte was the most delicate start wars project in my opinion to handle, due to the time of the events. Not even a century before the events of episode I. What it is difficult to ignore are the main contradictions. I wouldn’t complain if they created a new Star Wars universe separated to the main movie. However, the idea is to create a united universe and expand it, and explain little by little details and new stories that go accordingly with each other. I wouldn’t criticise minimal errors or details poorly expanded. Let’s remember that I simply want to enjoy my tv series after work… I could start to illustrate every single incoherence, but I will leave the job to people more competent than me. I will make one simple example to argument my statements: It is not possible that in the phantom menace, the high council affirms that there has been a 1000 years of peace without any news of the Sith, with what we saw in The Acolyte. The second point that I feel like expressing towards the producer is this: I strongly believe that the main purpose should be make the viewers happy. I think everyone has a life. And nowadays after work or school we simply want to have 40 minutes of entertainment without thinking about our routines. The fact is that The Acolyte is becoming a fight between unsatisfied fans and producers for many reasons. In my opinion the production can discuss and fight back as much as they want, but the only facts are that the majority is not happy. Instead of starting a discussion I would appreciate a simple apology towards the unsatisfied audience with the promise to do their best to improve. There are a lot of more important things in life. For me, a tv series is my moment of happiness and reward after work. I humbly ask to try their best to improve and make the most happy. Accept the criticism, it’s part of the job. You go on and improve. In conclusion I am not concerned simply by the poor work on the Acolyte in my personal and apparently largely shared opinion. I am worried by the lack of willingness to improve by the producers, due to their behaviour of defensive towards their work and justification. Not accepting the critiques, searching the “fight” with the fan and insistence of justifying every mistake. Said this, I simply like Star Wars, and I love the idea of expanding the universe. Just please try to do your best with happiness and listen to everyone opinion, good or bad that it is. Byee, thank you if someone read this entirely :)
