This book got me a bit emotional at times and it did a good job at what it tried to do- make a book about both accepting and bettering yourself and letting the past go. However, the beginning of the book was a bit slow and to be honest the entire book was not paced amazingly. But it isn’t a perfect world so it adds some realism to the story- stuff happens rapidly but can also slow down entirely for a while. Owen is a well written character however I wish he didn’t (spoilers for the end) lose most of his weight. I think it promotes the idea that everything has a perfect ending which doesn’t make sense with the pacing- which I explained earlier. But overall the story itself was written alright. I wish it was a bit longer (not in the cliche “I want more of it because i love it so much!”) I just think the story would do good with some more time to develop. I would give it a 4/5 but the mom, Zelda wasn’t developed well at all which is my biggest flaw. So 3/5
