It is rare that a movie with such expectation fails so miserably. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. From the great heights of the first Wonder Woman movie (which I reckon was one of the all-time finest superhero movies), this is a rather steep crash off the cliff... Wonder Woman 1984 is not just a movie set in '84, it actually plays out like a movie made in '80s in terms of technological and story telling refinement... Absolute caricatures of characters, ridiculous plot holes, incongruous narrative, cringeworthy CGI and a whimper of a finish land this abysmal mess at the bottom of DC's universe. Even by dodgy sequel standards, this is poor. I watched WW1 three years ago and sat there wondering HOW they made that movie... Now, watching WW1984, I am wondering WHY they made this movie.
