i had just read Dune six months before seeing it on VHS as i missed seeing it in a theater at the time.it`s Herbert`s Dune on screen but at the the same time it isn`t it`s like a marriage of Frank Herbert/David Lynch on screen but it works for me i love it but i know other Herbert fans may not.I`m giving it five stars !!!!

the original and by far the very best of any of the STAR TREK series !!!!!!

one of the best STAR TREK spin offs in the 1990`s way better than NEXT GENERATION in terms of story content and character ,whereas NEXT GENERATION was politically correct and produced a lot of mediocre episodes,DEEP SPACE 9 broke rules with serialized episodes and took chances whereas the former (next gen) stayed in the same old,same old box every week..DEEP SPACE 9 worth checking out !!!

i was born in`67 and i grew up watching the original series in reruns,seeing the original movies in theaters and later watching the next generation when it came out in first run syndication.I remember how hostile people like me who were either first generation fans who watched brand new in the 1960`s or people like me born in the 1960`s who watched the reruns growing up were at first offended by it.I`m one of those people that are honest in their reviews and i can`t sugar coat it for the younger fans but i did watch every next gen episode when they originally aired all 7 seasons.My point is this if you only knew Star Trek by only having seen next gen to start with then you have deprived your self because the original series was great,OK that being said don`t get me wrong but i don`t like the historical revisionism about how next gen episodes were the greatest things since sliced bread.If you actually go thru and re watch the episodes i will say yes there are some good episodes per season every season but the series suffered from high turn over on the writing staff and inept production supervision and you have to admit it ,but they also had a lot of really boring episodes that went nowhere really and relied on too much techno babble to save the ship/crew ? i actually thought Deep Space 9 was written way better and the other modern trek i liked was Enterprise because they were starting to take some artistic chances with the show so it wasn`t boring and predictable as some next gen episodes became.

early 1980`s post apocalyptic film starring LEE MAJORS of SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN fame .In the future a virus causes chaos and a elite group of politicians take over and change society for the worse and outlaw the use of cars.Majors character decides to leave to California which has broken away from the rest of the USA and have returned to the use of machinery including cars,so Majors character breaks out his hidden 20 year old race car and heads to California,also stars BURGESS MEREDITH and CHRIS MAKESPEACE 1981

this adaption is a lot closer to the books than Peter Jackson came .I loved it ,watched it for the first time on vhs back in the 1980`s.i was only 11 years old in 1978 when it came out and my local theater never showed it. this version is a cult classic and rightly so.

the movies are the movies and the books are the books,the movies are very good but the source material the books are way better!!!!! i don`t dismiss the movies as they are very good but a lot of changes to adapt the trilogy for the big screen ,changes and omissions .i know you can`t include everything from the books but Jackson could have put a more in them that`s all i`m trying to say !! 4 stars out of 5

the original series from 1959-1964 was ground breaking in that it was not only entertainment for the masses but had a lot of layers to each story presented weekly.Rod Serling was a profound writer who found ways to make observations about people and real life situations disguised as entertainment .The original version of this show and still the best,!!!!

one of the worst ideas for a star trek series yet!!! bad characters it reminds me of that god awful teen titans cartoon .who ever thought this would pass as star trek must be on something? if not then maybe they should start? i`m not impressed with it at all !! better off getting rid of the star trek title and send it over to nickelodeon !!! i like to leave less than no stars if it were possible !!!
